My approach to treatment is to include all aspects of a person’s biological, social and psychological experiences to create an individualized, client centered treatment plan. I provide therapy within a non-judgemental, non-stigmatizing and confidential relationship. This includes people from diverse backgrounds and religious, sexual (LGBTQ) spiritual, or other orientations.
As an experienced medical and clinical social worker, I can work closely with your physician and other practitioners to provide adjunctive support for pre and post surgery preparation, painful or anxiety-provoking medical or dental procedures, chronic pain or chronic health issues, somatic or psychosomatic symptoms.
Education: Masters of Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary with a minor degree in psychology including Abnormal and Clinical psychology.
Experience: Over 15 years experience working with adults and youth within community non-profit agencies, as well as hospitals, counselling, community mental health and residential addiction treatment facilities.
I hold a current registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers which is an affiliate member of the Canadian Association of Social Workers. I regularly attend clinical conferences and trainings and subscribe to academic journals that keep my practice skills current.
